Interstellar Date
Appearance
Because the civilizations of Other Space are spread across multiple planets within multiple star systems, an interstellar standard of time is useful for discussing dates and events. Unfortunately, there is no universal standard across all members of the interstellar community.
- All members of the Endri-nâi Confederation follow the calendar for years on Sothendra as an interplanetary standard, although each planet will have its own local calendar.
- The Illanian Star Republic uses the Republic Star Calendar, though individual planets will also use their own local calendars.
- The Rel-danii Alliance of Planets uses the Alliance Standard Calendar, which is based on the current year on Parrau.
So what year is it?
It depends.
Sothendra Calendar
The Sothendra calendar is based on the planet's year length of 333 days (374.625 earth days). It is divided into eleven months, based on the 30.3 day cycle of lunar convergences (when the planet's two moons appear to cross paths in the sky). Nine of the months have thirty days, while three of them have 31.
The current Sothendran calendar year (as of 2025) is 3924.
