The Kaxxai (ˈkæk.ksəi), singular kaxin (ˈkæks.ən) are a species native to the planet Kax.

Overview

The Kaxxai, from planet Kax, are a largely peaceful species at present. During the days of the Illanian Star Empire, their homeworld – along with Garr and several others – was under Illanian rule. After the Endri-Illanian War, the Kaxxai were the last to declare their independence. Endri-nâi records show that a people known as Katxa of planet Kax declared war on the endri-nâi world Ranâin roughly two thousand years ago and were defeated.

Kaxxai are generally shorter and stockier than Rel-danii or Garrians, though taller than Cantarrians, with their average height between 5 and 5.75 feet. Their hands have four fingers each, and their feet four toes, with the fourth toe pointing backwards. Much of their world remains forested, and they traditionally live in tree dwellings. Women among many Kaxxai cultures paint the underside of the chin and neck, while many of the men do the same for the bridge of the nose; these are to accentuate naturally-occurring extra pigmentation on those regions.
